- Friday, 21 June 2024, at 5:00 p.m. at the Riad complex: workshop for professors and doctoral students interested in publishing in the field of humanities and social sciences. Our guest is considered the founder of the international journal « Management international ».
- Saturday, 22 June 2024, at 9:00 a.m. at the University auditorium: lecture entitled « Poverty Alleviation and National Renewal: Reflections on the Management of Economic Development ».
Deans are kindly requested to ensure the participation of doctoral students in Friday's workshop and attendance at Saturday's lecture, which is of interest to all disciplines.
Guest CV:
Professor Taïeb Hafsi, an Algerian native of Saida residing in Canada, is Emeritus Professor of International Strategic Management of Organizations at HEC Montréal (Canada) and holder of the Walter J. Somers Chair in International Strategic Management. His research focuses primarily on the strategic management of complex organizations. Over the past ten years, he has conducted significant research on the relationship between strategy and the nature of the organization's environment, organizational responses to the globalization of markets, strategic change, and issues of competitiveness and national strategy. These themes remain the subject of ongoing research. He has published numerous articles in various academic and professional journals. He has also written twenty-five books and monographs and contributed to many other works.
He was a member of CETAI and chaired its publications. He founded the journal Management international. He is a founding member of the Strategic Management Society and a member of the advisory board of the World Association for Case Research and Application (WACRA). He is also a member of the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada (ASAC). He regularly participates in numerous academic conferences and has organized several, including the major conferences of the Strategic Management Society and WACRA. He has received many awards, including the Pierre Laurin Research Prize and the 2000 Teaching Award (awarded only once in a professor's career).
He sits on several boards of directors, including those of small high-tech companies in Canada and abroad. He has played a role in numerous consulting engagements for complex organizations, including diversified companies and state-owned enterprises in Canada and the United States, as well as for governments in Canada and in several developing countries in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. He has also been elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.
